The Tube Mod By Cthulhu Previewed
The Cthulhu Tube mod is a new Semi-mechanical mod from the brand who usually creates atomisers!
This is a versatile and stunning little mod with added safety features too!
The mod in the small version can uses a single 18350 battery. However install the included extension tube and you can also use a 18650 battery.
To help with safety there is a MOSFET chip installed on the mod.
This basically means there are some circuitry protections. If there is a short circuit the mod will basically not work as the chip will not supply the battery power.
Also the internal surface where the battery lives is insulated – and apparently Cthulhu say even torn battery wraps will not cause a short circuit. Not that I would want to even put that to the test! Make sure you are clued up on your battery safety!
On the side of the mod is the fire button – there is not full battery power to this button it simply acts as an “activator” for the MOSFET chip and the chip then connects the full battery power to the 510 connection.
I have seen a statement on the Cthulhu Facebook page today (24/2/19) regarding an early version of this mod – which is on pre-order and it appears there are some modifications being made. I am not sure if any have been shipped prior to this or if this affects pre-orders only.

Our team change the connector pin material, adjust circuit parameter (to reduce fire-delay, and improve the yield of good chip), and add liquid proof coating.
We will send new chips to all pre-orders (order from cthulhu or other retailers).
New batch will use improvement chips too.
We are testing improved chips with new testing equipment now.
Our team will post testing result next week.

I have to say this is a tiny little cute mod. The addition of the chip does make it more appealing to me – however this has been done before by other manufacturers of Semi-regulated devices.
