The Mulan MTL RDTA By Cthulhu Previewed
The Cthulhu Mulan MTL RDTA is a new MTL tank release.
MTL stands for “Mouth to Lung” which is a vaping style often preferred by ex-smokers and those using higher nicotine strength e-liquid. These devices often run with higher resistance coils, lower power and a more restricted airflow.
We tell you more about MTL and DTL in our guide to vaping styles.
The Mulan is an RDTA which is a hybrid between an RDA and RTA. An RDA is usually superior for flavour as the coils are closer to the mouthpiece meaning little flavour is lost. An RTA has the convenience of having a reservior of e-liquid so you do not have to keep adding liquid to the coils.
An RDTA is kind of the best of both worlds. The coils sit on the deck closer to the mouthpiece and the e-liquid reservior is below the coil deck.
The Mulan MTL RDTA will hold 2ml of e-liquid in the bottom chamber. I can’t see how this is refilled other than removing the top barrel to access the deck.
Talking of the deck this is a basic single coil jobby with the coil sitting over the central airflow outlet.
The air comes in through the side port via a restrictor. You can change the restrictor to a smaller or larger size one to suit the restriction you require.
One great design point is that you can change the restrictor without having to remove the coil yay!
Apparently this RDTA is “squonk friendly” but it does not state if you get solid or bottom feed 510 pins in the kit.
Here is a brief video from Cthulhu showing how easy it is to change the airflow insert.
There are 2 colours to choose from: Silver and Black.
