Let’s be honest here, the other ‘guys‘ look like they use carbolic soap and a scrubbing brush on their collective faces…and have probably only ‘read‘ about facials on the darker side of the internet…ooo get me being bitchy ha!
Hey, it takes a lot of work for me to look this young and vibrant at 59-years-old, and my morning and nighttime facial ritual can take up to 2 hours…probably lol.
OK, joking aside, CBD seems to be popping up in all sorts of products these days and not just CBD infused e-liquid and specific CBD vape kits either.
What Is CBD?
For those not in the know, Cannabidiol [CBD] is taken from the cannabis plant however through process the active ingredient that makes a user ‘high’ – Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC – is removed.
It’s perfectly legal here in the UK and can be found in many forms in health shops as well as many vape shops.

OK, the CBDfx CBD face masks were sent to me free of charge for the purpose of this review direct from the company – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are not swayed by freebies.
CBDfx CBD Face Masks Instructions
Unlike many face masks out there, the one’s from CBDfx are actually a mask and not a cream you rub in.
There are slits for the eyes, nose and mouth and as you can see from the photo, are designed for those with a smaller face lol.
OK, the instructions are on the back of the packet but here’s a quick run down.
- Wash your face and dry
- Apply CBD face mask smoothing out the wrinkles
- Leave on for at least 10 minutes
- Once removed don’t wash off for at least another 10 minutes
- Wash off and enjoy fresh clean skin!

I Say
Quite a strong smell off this one – a kind of herbal come medicinal aroma with a hint of something a little unpleasant in the background.
I know that’s quite a common reaction from people on smelling Aloe Vera in many forms, so I’m not alone – some people love that smelly back note.
It sticks to the skin very well indeed and for the the first 5 minutes I was getting a tingle of sorts.
As you can see, the masks aren’t made for folks like me with a big head and beard. Off camera I trimmed away the excess hanging over my beard and stuck them to all the exposed bits lol.
10 minutes in and and I removed the CBDfx CBD Face Mask and as per the instructions, didn’t wash the residue off for a good hour.
Did my skin feel tighter?
It might be my mind playing tricks – but I could definitely feel it was – so much so I might apply some to my saggier bits…

I Say
I did chuckle climbing into bed wearing this one.
Luckily I’m alone, otherwise my none existent partner might have:
- a: laughed herself silly
- b: ran for her life thinking I was wearing a gimp mask
All joking aside, and it might be the beard factor, but this was very annoying in bed.
For a start my pillow case got very wet and sticky…make up your own jokes as we go lol.
Secondly it was beginning to annoy me within the first few seconds of lying down as it squelched and slithered about.
Again, that could be the beard factor as I do have dangly bits…as I said make up your own jokes as we go along…
So nope, if anything it added to my personal stress factor and obviously didn’t help me drop off into a peaceful sleep…

I Say
The ‘girliest‘ smell of them all once you open up the packet – very sweet and floral.
This one’s designed for toning and moisturizing, something my old skin definitely needs help with.
I do droop…round the eyes BTW and nowhere else lol, and as you read at the start, I do enjoy a morning facial – as in routine…using a manly none CBD moisturizer.
I wrote half of the Vape News a couple of weeks ago whilst wearing the Rose CBDfx CBD Face Mask, and was able to vape the Caliburn G by popping it under the flap lol.
Hand on heart I can honestly say my skin felt bloody lovely after using this one.
Not tight or taut, but definitely fresh, very clean, smooth and soft…almost like a baby’s bum…let’s say all peachy ha!
I did smell nice too…a very gentle whiff of rose petals lol.

Ooooo I said having a little skip and clapping my hands – my skin can indeed look tired and puffy so I was very excited to try this one!
And despite my morning ritual of liberally slapping on copious amounts of manly moisturizer, my skin does dry out.
I drink at least a big bottle of mineral water per day, however being out hiking pretty much every day, does dry my face out.
I like to think I look all weather beaten and manly, instead I can look flaky lol.
I used this one after a recent very long walk over the icy cold windy snowy hills and was delighted with the result!
My face on returning home was as dry as a bone and I could feel the top layer wondering if it should flake.
Using the Cucumber CBDfx CBD Face Mask gave me the result I was after for sure.
My skin definitely felt hydrated and that wind burn tightness disappeared – brilliant stuff….
Incidentally – in the summer I use a cucumber based after sun lotion that does the same job…so yeah cucumber works a treat on even the oldest toughest skin like mine 😉

I Say
The Charcoal CBDfx CBD Face Mask is the only one that’s black – the others are either cream or white.
I just want to make that clear in case any snowflakes out there think I’m doing a ‘black face‘…it shows up better on the camera 🙂
It does look weird when worn though…as you can see…
Anyway, I did a bit of a test with this one using a white cloth before applying and then one after I’d washed it off.
The cloth was a little grubby and oily before and way way cleaner afterwards.
My skin definitely felt much fresher too – though I really didn’t notice if it was brighter…
I reckon of them all, this one is ideal for blokes [with small faces] that give a shit about their skincare, and is the one I’d definitely buy again.
Honestly my skin is definitely missing this one – I was sent two and they’ve both been used – that says it all.
Final Review Verdict
I’m a bit out of touch and not sure what women pay for a good facial or face mask these days…ahem…
But I do feel these are maybe a little on the expensive side, but then price is of course relative.
I guess as a weekly treat in a bath with candles and girly stuff, the price is about right.
They certainly do what they say on the packet, and I really did notice a difference using every single one of them, especially the Cucumber and Charcoal versions.
Younger Fresher Cleaner Skin – Proof!
It’s not just me either, my son said a day after using the Cucumber that I looked well…with, I must admit, an air of suspicion as to what his 59-year-old Dad had been up to lol.
And come to that, as you saw on our FaceBook page, an Amazon delivery driver demanded age ID when delivering Vaporesso GTX coils [my local vape shop had sold out BTW].
Yeah, I know he was just doing his job…and nothing to do with my younger looking skin…still makes me chuckle though lol.
Look, and despite being a fully paid up member of the manly metro-sexual club – I rule out guy-liner and other male make-up BTW – I suggest anyone reading this CBDfx CBD Face Masks review has a look at the reviews from the women over on the website.
They bloody love these products and who am I to argue with those in the know.
