Today I’m taking a look at the Bar Juice 5000 refillable E-liquid range.
I can’t honestly say I’ve heard of Bar Juice. I was convinced they were another disposable e-cig manufacturer having taken a cursory glance at their product.
After checking out their website it didn’t take long to familiarise myself with their mission statement. They seem to share a very similar and dry sense of humour but underneath it all there’s a very stark message.
It’s one that rings true for me too. With the continuous churning out of disposable prefilled e-cigs it’s easy to forget the existence of the humble 10ml TPD bottle.
So Bar Juice are here to set the record straight. With phrases such as ‘puff geek’ and ‘no elves hurt during production’ there’s a tongue in cheek sincerity about these folks that I find myself instantly adhering to.
They’re offering a lower carbon footprint, natural flavourings made with honest ingredients and all done with a healthy dose of lurve!
So let’s take a look at what Bar Juice have to offer – and remember. It’s ok to wear trainers. We’ll still get into their club.
I Love that!
What Can We Expect From The Bar Juice 5000 Range?
Well for a start, don’t expect a disposable vape inside the ‘look-a-like’ outer packaging. The Bar Juice logo looks highly familiar and no doubt for a reason. So does the actual packaging and design work.
The manufacturer address, telephone number and website is clearly printed. Bar code verification is included on one side with an interesting recommendation on the other.
Best used with the Vaporesso XROS.
Inside the outer carton there’s a 10ml prefilled bottle rattling around along with a safety leaflet. Does anyone actually bother reading those anymore?
That’s after you’ve ripped open the vacuum sealed bag. Yup! Another ‘subtle’ nod towards those dastardly disposables!
All the bottles include a tamper proof seal and the obligatory child safety cap is colour co-ordinated to represent the flavour of choice.
It’s nice to see an expiry date that’s instantly accessible and although the label print is far too small for these tired eyes, the range is available as a 40VG/60PG juice ratio.
The ten flavours on offer are available in 20mg nicotine salt format (TPD compliant) so that suggests the use of a lower powered vape kit. They’ve been blended for use with mouth to lung devices.
Such as the Vaporesso XROS.
Essentially we’re getting the most popular flavours generally associated with disposable e-cigs, such as fruits, slushies and desserts.
Armed with Bar Juice’s knowledge that each bottle is the equivalent of five disposables and more wallet friendly to boot, it’s time we checked out how they vape.
Can you guess my weapon of choice? Close.. It’s the Vaporesso XROS Nano Pod Kit but I’ve also used the Uwell Caliburn G2 Pod Kit. Both are excellent and well worth checking out.
I’ve reviewed them here, on the site. (Shameless plug! lol).
Bar Juice 5000 – Apple Peach
Bar Juice Says:
Apple Peach combines the taste of tangy garden apples with notes of sugary sweet peaches from inhale through to exhale.
I Say:
To test Apple Peach I used the 0.8ohm mesh pod with the Vaporesso XROS Nano and applied a restrictive MTL airflow setting. This restriction was applied to all further tests.
There’s an instant build up of cooling agent during the inhale and combines with a high level of sweetness. In fact the sweetness also latches on to the inhale, making the start of the vape quite overwhelming if I’m honest.
It doesn’t take very long to suffer with brain freeze, either! lol
The vapes are smooth enough but my eyes soon begin to water due to a combination of icy sweetness.
The Apple is definitely your everyday garden variety. It certainly pulls through but there’s just no getting around that sweetness which kind of ruins the crunch of the fruit.
I also struggle to locate the Peach. It’s a side of the flavour experience I can’t share, unfortunately. The apple dominates the exhale.
I thought prefilled disposables were sweet enough until I tested this one. As much as the garden fruit is authentic, Apple Peach isn’t one for me.
Bar Juice 5000 – Energy Ice
Bar Juice Says:
Energy Ice blends the juicy taste of mixed fruit with a sugary soda note. Cool menthol then develops on exhale for a frozen fruit vape.
I Say:
To test Energy Ice I used the 1.2ohm mesh pod with the Vaporesso XROS Nano.
Energy Ice is packed full of flavour and it’s quite intense and concentrated. I’m a big fan of the Menthol content applied here because it’s nicely balanced against a mixed bag of fruits on offer.
There’s no brain freeze or bulging cartoon eyes! It is a very sweet vape too and maybe a bit wet tasting but the flavour certainly holds my attention. I can pick out raspberry and blueberry (hope I’m right! lol) with some delicate hints of blackberry.
The exhale does hint of a candy inspired vape as opposed to the fruits being fresh and there’s plenty of sugary goodness to be found.
So maybe Energy Ice is on the synthetic, artificial side of things but I find the taste pleasant enough, nevertheless.
It works well because the Menthol content isn’t overpowering proceedings.
Bar Juice 5000 – Pink Lemonade
Bar Juice Says:
Pink Lemonade features a combination of mixed berries that have been blended together with the sweet and citrusy flavour of lemonade.
I Say:
To test Pink Lemonade I used the Uwell Caliburn G2 with the UN2 1.2ohm mesh G2 coil installed.
Wow! That lemonade tastes fresh and very authentic! Citrus notes are in abundance and combine with a very pleasant sweetness.
The initial inhale provides a nice cold snap on the back of the throat which really elevates the fresh and cooling nature of this vape. The lemonade is very similar to the real thing and does bring a smile to my face!
As for other mixed berries? I don’t really notice those. They seem to get buried under the citrus and sweet notes. If anything, its Orange that seems to be the additional fruit, here.
I can only tell you what I’m experiencing, after all. lol
Pink Lemonade is a very clean, bright and lively vape that’s born to be vaped during the long, hot Summer months in my opinion. It simply bursts with flavour and I like it.
Bar Juice 5000 – Peach Ice
Bar Juice Says:
Peach Ice finely balances the flavour of juicy tasting peaches with a fresh menthol note, delivering a fruity inhale with a frosty finish.
I Say:
To test Peach Ice I used the UN2 0.8ohm G mesh coil of the Uwell Caliburn G2 Pod Kit.
The aroma of peach can be detected through the tamper proof seal on the bottle. I found that mildly concerning. It hints of flavour intensity and concentration. so was that what I found?
Again, cooling agent sears the back of the throat and creates an ice cold lining that refuses to budge once contact is made. It carries a very strong and cutting characteristic that I’m not overly keen on.
The peach content isn’t as overpowering which is good on the one hand but is unbalanced by menthol on the other. The sweetness of the peach is quite juicy and hits the right spot on the taste buds. It’s still very generic tasting though and doesn’t bring anything new to the table.
If a simple, single fruit is going to be the order of the day, why do they all have to vape the same? Shrouding it with menthol doesn’t change anything. It’s been done before.
However, I am speaking as a seasoned vaper whose been there, done that. A new vaper will enjoy all the intensity and coldness created during exhale, I’m sure.
It does, after all, more than live up to the flavour description and that’s what the score needs to reflect.
Bar Juice 5000 – Strawberry Ice Cream
Bar Juice Says:
Strawberry Ice Cream captures the authentic taste of this popular dessert, creating a vape with sweet strawberry notes and a rich creamy flavour.
I Say:
I’m a big fan of dessert based e-liquids so I need to remain unbiased with my opinion of Strawberry Ice Cream. It’s just that I haven’t tasted a bad one yet in disposable form at least (See Elf Bar Elfa review). Since Bar Juice are trying to emulate the same experience, does this one succeed?
I used a Caliburn UN2 1.2ohm mesh coil to test the flavour in the Uwell Caliburn G2 Pod Kit.
Impressive. I was expecting it to be a little more concentrated but that’s no bad thing. All the milky, dairy notes are intact and the flavour balance with the Strawberry is spot on.
It’s that light and fluffy version of strawberry – the no thrills variety. The type found in a Soufflé or encased in icing sugar. It works a treat here, set against the backdrop of a sensible layering of Coolada.
The icy content will still line the back of the throat but doesn’t divert any attention away from the overall flavour blending. Good. All good.
Also of note is the sweetener. It works during the vape as opposed to hitting the lips as an after thought. So a combination of cooling, fruitiness and sugar mean that Strawberry Ice Cream is bound to be a favourite among newer vapers.
It’s likely to hold their attention in the battle to abstain from cigarette smoke. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about..
Bar Juice 5000 – Watermelon
Bar Juice Says:
Watermelon is a simple blend that delivers the authentic taste of sweet watermelons, for an exotic and bold flavour in every puff.
I Say:
Very refreshing. I’ve vaped many different forms of watermelon. Cantaloupe, Honeydew are a couple of varieties and they tend to range from average to disastrous in flavour output.
This one takes its cue from the common Crimson Sweet type yet generic in nature. It tends to be the safest bet in e-liquid form but that’s not to say it’s unpleasant.
The flavour doesn’t come across as being too strong or overpowering either. In fact, it’s the least intense of the range, thus far. Sometimes you can’t go wrong with a simple, single flavour and if you like Watermelon, you’ll like this one.
The Coolada continues to play its games as a throat liner but in this case, adds to the overall refreshing appeal. There’s plenty of sweetness during the inhale and it continues through on the way out.
It’s a well rounded vape and although holds few surprises is another flavour that will appeal to the first time vaper.
How Do They Vape In The XROS Nano?
Talk about a head rush! The 20mg of salt nicotine hit me like a train while using the Vaporesso XROS Nano. The experience was also quite a ‘wet’ one with the juice almost seeming to leak on to my tongue.
The flavour intensity was off the scale, and so was the brain freeze caused by the cooling agent.
If Bar Juice were looking to replicate the sweetness found in disposable e-cigs, they’ve succeeded. Why? Because I don’t usually find this level in the majority of 10ml bottles I vape.
How Do They Vape In The Uwell Caliburn G2 Pod Kit?
I didn’t get the same level of wetness from the vape. Whether that meant the Caliburn G2 coils have better wicking properties, I can’t say. I’m a big fan of both devices used.
As expected, I got the same head rush from the 20mg salt nicotine and the Coolada was probably a little more accessible. My eyes had stopped watering when I switched to using the Caliburn G2 lol!
Flavour distribution was also slightly better and not quite as intense but still on a higher level found with the usual 3mg freebase 10ml bottle, for example.
So as much as Bar Juice recommend the Vaporesso Nano, I personally prefer the range in the Caliburn G2.
In either case, vapour production was good. A suitable stealthy arrangement from both and very much on par with that produced with cigarette smoke.
Bar Juice 5000 Refillable E-Liquid – Final Review Verdict
I only had a limited number of pods available when using the Vaporesso XROS Nano. That’s why it only featured twice in the review process. I wanted a clean, untarnished experience each time. In the way someone would be vaping them from brand new pods, if you like.
It’s clear what Bar Juice have done. One of the reasons disposables have gained so much popularity is through their flavour intensity. That’s very apparent when reviewing the Bar Juice 5000 range.
The issue I have with this is that yes, on the one hand there’s money to be saved over disposables by vaping e-liquid this way. On the other and probably more important is that sealed pod and stock coils are likely to suffer from a much shorter life.
It’s a well known fact that sweetener especially, is responsible for caramelisation of coils.
So if coils need to be replaced on a more regular basis how much is actually gained, financially?
Have Bar Juice shot themselves in the foot? I’m not so sure. The advent of disposable e-cigarettes has certainly overshadowed the traditional E-liquid bottle whether 10ml, 50ml or beyond.
Maybe it’s time to fight back. Bar Juice seem intent on that and I for one, can’t blame them.

I’m trying to switch from elfbar watermelon Ive to a mod system to save money. Not sure if you have ever tried the elfbar watermelon Ice to compare the bar juice watermelon flavor?
