The Aspire Reax is a new mini kit that is ideal for mouth to lung vapers as well as those who like a more restricted direct to lung vape; it comes with the latest Tigon tank.
Aspire, est 2013, is a leading manufacturer of e-cig hardware and one of the most trusted names in the industry. The company specialises in everything from replacement parts to box mods, tanks and beginner kits their back catalogue is very impressive. Tanks such as the Nautilus Mini with the game changing BVC coils, Atlantis, Triton Mini, Cleito Pro and with mods such as the Skystar, Zelos and K1 Stealth.
So What Can We Expect From The Reax Mini by Aspire?
At just 115mm in height (including tank) the Reax boasts a 1600mAh battery and 6 different wattage settings. All this is topped off by the excellent top fill Tigon tank.
So what are our thoughts on the Reax Mini? Let’s dive down and take a detailed look.

Design and Build Quality
The Aspire Reax Mini kit is flexible, light and easy to operate. It kind of reminds me of the OBS Cube in looks but the body is more rounded.
Reax Mini Mod
It’s a compact vape mod coming in at 70mm by 31.5mm by 29.6mm. The mod is made of a Zinc-Aluminium Alloy, has an excellent build quality and sleek minimalist design.
The tactile decoration of the rounded body has been designed to give you a good grip.
The branding to the back of the mod is on a Perspex plate.
The 510 connection is stainless steel with well turned threading and a gold plated spring loaded pin. The connection plate has a pentagram type design etched into the steel.
The Reax has a large fire button which also acts as the on and off button, the device has a 10 second puff cut off.
There is an internal 1600mAh lipo battery which gives good battery life with plus ohm vaping.
At the base is a micro USB charge point with a small indicator light both of which are located on the front of the device just under the selection button.
Looking at the bottom of the Reax you will see the wattage selection screen.
Using the selection button you will be able to scroll between 8W, 10W, 12W, 14W, 16W and bypass!
The output wattage can only be adjusted when the resistance of the connected coil is detected to be equal to, or higher than 1.0Ω.
When the coil resistance is less than 1.0Ω (Sub Ohm), the output is automatically placed into the non-adjustable bypass mode.
If you look around the selection screen you will see that Aspire have added a little rubber ring this is to help stop scratches to the screen.
Tigon Sub-Ohm Tank
The stainless steel tank has a diameter of 24.5mm and 2ml capacity, the drip tip is Delrin.
The tank dismantles into 6 parts, including the coil and screw. Use the little tool to remove the screw under the coil to dismantle fully for cleaning.
Airflow (AF)
The bottom ring spins to reveal the AF. One wide slot for Direct to Lung (DTL) vaping and 5 pin holes for Mouth to Lung (MTL) vaping. The AF is fully configurable to your style.
Mouth Pieces, Glass and Threads
The tank comes with two 510 drip tips; a short wide mouthpiece for direct to lung and an elongated mouthpiece for mouth to lung vaping.
All threading in and out of the tank is well turned. The 510 connection pin is non adjustable.
Fill Port and Coils
The Tigon tank has a top fill design with a child lock. Simply pull up the outer ring and slide the cap at the drop mark with your thumb to reveal the silicone covered fill port.
The Tigon tank is supplied with 2 coils. 1.2Ω for MTL and 0.4Ω for DTL, both of which are Nichrome.
Both coils are a simple push in pull out design.
As far as I am concerned the quality and design of the Tigon tank is exemplary.
How Does The Aspire Reax Kit Perform?
For this example I have filled the Aspire Tigon Sub Ohm Tank with Dr Frost Strawberry Ice, we will be using the 1.2Ω Ni chrome coil to start and then swapping out for the 0.4Ω coil.
Basic Quick Start Guide
No need to empty the tank before changing coils as the liquid flow is automatically shut off when the coil is removed!
- Decide which coil you want to use, unscrew the tank base and replace the coil, don’t forget to prime your coil first (a few drops of liquid on cotton), screw the base back into position.
- Pull up the tank ring and push open the fill port, fill the tank through the silicone with your bottle nose.
- Screw the Tigon Tank onto the Reax body – leave for 10 minutes so the coil can soak up more liquid. This will prevent any nasty dry hits resulting in a burnt coil.
5 clicks of the fire button will turn the mod on and off.
Press the selection button while looking at the bottom of the device, you can scroll through from 8 to 16w and bypass.
Enjoy your new Aspire Reax Kit with your desired wattage.
Flavour and Vapour
1.2Ω Coil at 10/12W
We set the Reax to 10W to start and the airflow (AF) to around half of the MTL setting. This was more than plenty for 10W. Not much in the way of cloud but the flavour was fairly good.
Upping the AF to fully open on the MTL setting and the wattage to 12w. The result was very similar albeit the vapour was slightly more dense. The flavour didn’t change, however, there was a noticeable change to the warmth of the vape.
0.4Ω Coil on Bypass
Switching out to the 0.4Ω coil with the AF set for half of the Direct to Lung (DTL) slot.
The battery auto recognised that the coil was a sub ohm coil and so we are unable to switch the wattage from Bypass.
There was a remarkable change in vapour quality.
It was warm and very cloudy, the flavour was good but not remarkable. Setting the AF slot to full DTL I found it was remarkably similar with the exception for the vapour denseness. Very cloudy LOL.
While smooth the Direct to Lung airflow was restricted enough to do a fairly descent DTL draw.
Battery Life | Pass Through
Using the kit as a dedicated MTL device the battery life was exceptionally good, managing approx 4hrs of vape time.
Using the kit as a DTL device the battery life did suffer. Only managing approx 2.5hrs of consistant vaping before a full charge was needed.
The device can be used as a pass through. In other words you can vape on the kit while it is charging. Always handy if you’re sitting at a computer!

- Red = Recharge.
- The battery charges from dead to full in 1 hour so really fast.
Selection numerals – while they light up white they are rather small I did have trouble reading them.
While I’m not that happy with just Nichrome coils in the kit due to my allergy they both do function as stated with good flavour and longevity.
Testing Different Atomisers on the Reax Mini Mod
As part of my test with this kit, I swapped out the Tigon Tank and replaced it with my old Aspire Nautilus Mini.
With a 1.8Ω coil imagine my surprise at 16W, with the AF open wide, to be able to do a very respectable restricted DTL draw. With yummy flavour and a respectable amount of vapour to boot.
I also used the Vapefly Holic MTL RDA with a 0.6Ω coil in place. While the draw wasn’t as good with full airflow as the Nautilus Mini, it was a little tighter. I found the flavour was very good at 16W with a good amount of vapour.

Final Review Verdict
The Aspire Reax Mini is a fabulous little kit. Light, compact and ideally suited to those who like mouth to lung (MTL) vaping. While the bypass mode functions well for sub-ohm coils, it does eat the battery quite fast.
I love the idea of the automatic liquid close valve within the Tigon tank, while Nichrome coils are not my thing they do work well, so would I recommend the kit “Yes” I would.
Would I personally buy the kit due to loss or damage for me “No”, but as the wife has inherited this one she might argue “yes” as it slips in her purse nicely lol.
