The Amber By Arctic Dolphin
The Arctic Dolphin Amber is a Stabilised wood Squonk Mod.
Arctic Dolphin have recently released the Crea Squonk mod – which was a budget priced excellent quality mechanical squonker.
However the Amber is at the other end of the scale – this is a premium priced mod to go with their other Stab Wood squonker, the Arctic Dolphin Soul mod.
The Amber has a stabilised wood body – basically wood which has a stabilising medium applied – often a type of resin – to cure and add to the woods appearance.
The body has a top and bottom cover made from stainless steel.
There is a single fire button on the top. As this is a mechanical mod – there are no means of adjusting the performance as such. The coil build and battery will dictate the power output – so make sure you know all about battery safety and Ohms Law to keep safe.
As this is a squonk mod there is a 7ml squonk bottle which is made from food grade silicone.
You will need 1×18650 battery to run this mod and as usual no battery included in the kit.
The battery and squonk bottle are accessed via screw caps located in the base of the mod.
The mod is 28mm in width so you can use bottom feed RDA’s up to 28mm diameter hopefully with no overhang.
As is usual with stabilised wood mods you can’t choose the colour. I do find this annoying – this is a pricey bit of kit so it would be nice to at least pick the base colour even if the shades and patterns will vary.
Kit Includes
- Arctic Dolphin Amber Squonk Mod
- User Manual

This does look beautiful and if Arctic Dolphin can be judged on their Crea Squonk mod – this promises to be excellent quality.
However the price is a bit eye watering – but with it being a mech mod there should be little to go wrong with it.
Have you got your eye on the Arctic Dolphin Amber mod?
I received mine last friday and what an amazing mod it is. It performs exeedingly well and It really looks the part too.
Now, I do have one gripe with the mod,and that is the finishing. Don’t get me wrong it’s still great, but I like my stab wood all shiney so I applied cutting board oil, micro mesh sanded and polished it to a mirror finish and then wax sealed it and buffed it with Renaissance Wax. Now it’s as smooth as silk, with an extremely reflective surface and looks just as amazing as a mod 3 times the price 🙂
