The Apollo Ohm Go is the latest piece of vaping kit I reviewed from Apollo. The previous blew me away so I was more than a little excited to get my hands on the Apollo Ohm Go Kit.
This is a self-adjusting up to 50 watt sub ohm complete kit but also comes with a 1.0ohm coil meaning you can also use it as a MTL [mouth to lung] device.
So if the Apollo VTube 5.0 and Phazer tank sent me into a happy vaping orbit will the Ohm Go Kit be another out of this world vape? Hint.. This has easily made it onto our Best Vape Pen list. Read on to find out why.
Let’s take a closer look.

And there’s something else I like about Apollo vaping products – they cover pretty much every base when it comes to specs and details – a big tick in the right box 😉
Key Features
The powerful 1900mAh built in battery should keep even the chain vapers happy through a working day and add to that pass-through vaping [vape whilst device charges] and you have a device that won’t let you down.
You are also looking at a vape kit that by using different coils means you’ll be able to switch your styles with ease as the chip in the battery automatically adjusts the power.
So the 1.0ohm coil will allow you to vape as if smoking a cigarette – MTL – whilst the sub ohm coils will allow you to vape DTL [direct to lung].
A big plus for beginners to both styles of vaping is there’s no need to worry about LED screens and settings as it’s all done automatically.
Simply charge – fill with e liquid – choose the preferred coil and vape on!
The Portal tank is both top and bottom fill depending on which you prefer.
Design and Build Quality
The build on both the Portal tank and the Ohm Go is exceptional – truly exceptional.
Everything screws and unscrews beautifully. There are no raggedy edges – machine oil or any other imperfections – it’s all put together nigh on perfectly.
One thing I have noticed about the Portal Pyrex drip-tip is the fact that unlike the Phazer tank [which is fiddly to take off] this slips off easily for complete cleaning. The Phazer has a metal piece that needs to be unscrewed to completely clean the tip.
Which brings me nicely on to the design – this is an extremely good looking vape pen mod.
From the three red O rings at the base of the drip-tip to the Apollo logo on the base of tube this little vaping gizmo screams quality and class.
The base of the tank has Apollo and Portal etched onto the excellent airflow ring whilst the black sheath over the glass looks for all the world like a spaceship window.
There’s an Apollo logo and two red stripes running along the length of the battery which for me anyway gives the whole design movement.
Rather than settle for a boring circular fire button Apollo designers have added a kind of skull or alien head shape that lights up green for full power – blue for partially charged and of course red meaning you need to charge that battery.
The USB socket is on the side and level with the fire button meaning you can stand it up whilst charging.
I think you can tell I like this piece of kit!
How Does the Apollo Ohm Go Kit Perform?
Given this is a self-adjusting battery all you need to worry about is x5 clicks on and off!
As I’ve already mentioned you can fill from the top or bottom – I found filling from the top far easier as you simply unscrew the tank-top 😉
Swapping out the coil is a doddle and you can leave those last few drops of e-liquid in your tank. Simply turn the tank upside down and unscrew the base. The coil is then easily unscrewed and replaced.
Vaping on the Apollo Ohm Go Kit
OK so now you’re wondering how does this thing vape.
Like an absolute dream and then some.
I’ve tried very many self-adjusting – dual MTL and DTL devices for both beginners and established vapers and can say categorically this is one of the best I’ve tried.
With the 0.5ohm coil this literal pocket rocket spews out more vaper than a spaceship at lift off – not quite as much as the Phazer tank – but almost.
The 0.5ohm coil BTW is only chucking out between 20 and 30watts!!! Apollo sells a 0.3ohm coil separately and my goodness I can only begin to imagine how much vapour that little beauty will chuck!
Taste wise things were good but nowhere near as good as the Phazer – but still good if you catch my drift!
I was having so much fun cloud chasing I really didn’t want to try the 1.0ohm – but ever the professional I stopped turning my flat into a zero visibility zone [sweet smelling clouds everywhere] and popped it in.
Apollo recommends high VG e-liquids for the sub ohm coils and higher PG for the higher resistance coil.
For the record: PG = Propylene Glycol and VG = Vegetable Glycerin the main ingredients [apart from flavourings] of most e-liquids.
As a rule of thumb the higher the VG the more clouds and less throat hit and vice versa with PG.
Anyway I digress.
For the 1.0hm coil I used a 50/50 PG and VG e-liquid with 12mg nicotine.
With the airflow wide open I got a fantastic throat hit and a reasonable flavour.
However closing the airflow to halfway and the flavour [I know it well] was much much better.
Vapour wise it was slightly more than you’d get from a cancer stick and certainly smelled sweeter.
What I Like
What’s not to like!
The design is awesome –and the self-adjusting battery/chip works like a charm.
It feels great in the hand – I do like silicone/rubbery finishes – and the Portal tank really does impress with the amount of clouds it creates on a coil between 20 and 30watts.
The price is pretty good too.
For this you really are getting a top of the range vape kit that will allow you to easily switch between vaping styles and more importantly – switching that actually works.
What I Don’t Like
At a push I’d say the coils I’ve tried don’t give quite the same flavour profile as the Apollo Phazer but that is a bigger tank.
But don’t let that put you off as this is a different beast – the flavour is still great for a starter kit.
Final Review Verdict
If you count the tanks that’s x4 Apollo vaping products I’ve reviewed and have to say they are without doubt some of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to vape on.
So that’s x2 Apollo kits I’ve had the pleasure to review and both have blown my socks off!!!
To say I’m impressed is an understatement.
Sooo…
If I left this on the moon would I be screaming ‘Houston we have a problem’ and demand I flew right back to buy the Apollo Ohm Go kit?
- Roger that!
The Ohm Go Kit looks fantastic, is built beautifully and vapes like a dream – go buy one!
Pros
- Self-adjusting battery
- Superb design
- Great flavour
- Amazing cloud production
- MTL and DTL vaping
- Good price
Cons
None really 😉
Can this be used with CBD, trying to find the perfect CBD kit
Yes it can but with the 1.ohm coil if you;re using regular CBD e-liquid 🙂 There are some sub ohm specific CBD juices out there but most are more suited to low wattage mouth to lung kits/tanks.
Hi
I’m confused whether to go for phaser or Apollo? It says you get much more flavour from phaser but with everything else positive does the phaser match up to this highly regarded Apollo?
what sort of mouthpiece does it have I don’t like the wide ones
It comes with a wide ish drip tip mainly for DTL but u can order a more narrow tip designed for MTL from their site or any other brand should work fine. Ive this for 3 weeks using the 0.5 coil and yes the clouds are great for this little device but the flavour is just not strong enough for me… So I’m now using the 1.0 coil with a narrow drop tip and using a 50/50 juice… That’ll be my standard MTL device now as I’m gonna invest in a top of the line DTL mod and tank on my next payday… Plan is to use the Apollo as an MTL to use when I need a nic fix and use my new mod and tank for big clouds and flavor… Got my eye on the Smoant Battlestar 200w mod and pairing it with the Uwell Crown 3 Mini tank…. Can’t wait… Lol
