Introduction: Apollo Boss E-Liquid Review
The Apollo Boss E-liquid range was sent to me from the lovely people at Apollo Ecigs.
Now the labels on my bottles say “Boss” but a visit to the Apollo website does show these branded as simply Apollo e-liquids.
You will have to search their site for ‘Havana Nights’ and ‘King Pin’ to find them. This is their new branding that they will be switching to soon.
There are two types of liquid to choose from – a high VG sub ohm liquid or a Nicotine Salt liquid.
The High VG range are available in 0mg, 3mg or 6mg nicotine strengths. This is for Sub Ohm vaping devices and the VG means you will get more cloud production and this is a lot thicker liquid which may not wick properly in starter and low power kits.
The Nicotine Salt versions are available (USA only) in 20mg, 35mg and 50mg nicotine strengths. In the UK they are available in 10ml bottles in 20mg.
These are not to be used in Sub Ohm vaping equipment as the nicotine is too strong and also you will probably get leaks as this is a lot thinner liquid. This is designed for vape pen starter kits and pod mods ideally so you can get a good nic hit at low power.
We tell you more about Nicotine Salt E-liquid in our Guide.
I received 4 bottles from the range to try:
- Havana Nights – 60ml 6mg nicotine
- Havana Nights – 30ml 20mg Nicotine Salts liquid
- King Pin – 60ml 6mg nicotine
- King Pin – 30ml 20mg Nicotine Salts liquid
As you can see above I got both the high VG liquid and the Nic Salts liquids to test.
I will be using a Geekvape Ammit MTL RDA for testing the Nic Salt liquids and the Kaees Aladdin RDA for testing the high VG liquids.
I actually find it fascinating to be able to directly compare the same flavour in the two different VG percentages.
Thank you so much to the guys at Apollo for sending these over to me and as always I will report back honestly on my findings. But as we all know everyone’s tastes are different – plus using different types of equipment can alter the flavour profile. So I will try to assess how close they are to their description.
PG/VG & Nicotine Content
- The 30ml nicotine salt versions have 50% VG and 50%PG.
- The 60ml high VG versions have 80%VG and 20% PG.
If you don’t understand what PG and VG are read our handy guide.
VG vs PG in E-liquid: All You Need To Know.
These have different nicotine strengths – the nic salt versions are 20mg and the High VG versions are 6mg.
In the EU due to the TPD regulations you cannot buy e-liquid containing nicotine in bottles larger than 10ml.
The high VG version comes in a 50ml short fill bottle with no nicotine and you add nic shots to your preference. These are available by clicking on the “EU/UK customers” part of the website.
The nic salt versions are not available at all in the EU.
Havana Nights – 30ml 20mg Nicotine Salt 50/50
Apollo say…
“You’ve worked hard all year and are entitled to a little piece of paradise. Havana Nights gives that to you in a bottle. The perfect blend of vanilla and caramel touched lightly with a rich tobacco to give you the flavor and aroma and help you escape the troubles of ruling your own empire.”
I say….
This smells very old school tobacco e-liquidy to me with a back note of apple?
However vaping this the vanilla is the prominent taste so it’s very much a vanilla tobacco style.
I am not a fan of many tobacco flavour e-liquids but I have to say this is really lovely.
There is still an apple type taste in the background.
For a high nicotine e-liquid the layers of flavour are pretty incredible. Normally high nic has a slight chemical aftertaste but this just keeps giving.
I thought it was going to be more “Phoenix Nights” than “Havana Nights” – but I was wrong! It is super rare for me to give 10/10 for a tobacco flavour but Apollo you have nailed it!

This has a chocolatey / caramel type smell – really smells luscious – not chemically like some of the old tobacco e-liquids used to smell.
I tested this version after the Nic Salt version and I have to say the flavour is really close in both types.
This has a slightly sweeter edge with a smoother denser vapour – but that’s why it has more VG!
I am reminded of the biscuits you have with coffee – you know the ones in the little packets – Lotus Biscoff.
This is another 10/10 for me the vanilla tobacco flavour is really beautiful! I have even shocked myself how much I enjoy this!
King Pin – 30ml 20mg Nicotine Salt 50/50
Apollo say…
“Creamy sweet, peanut butter with a hint of tobacco.”
I say….
So the first whiff tells me this is not as sweet and a more “aged” type tobacco flavour. I can get a bit of caramel but it is a lot more nutty.
Yep the flavour is similar – a stronger tobacco but with almost a brandy type vibe in the background. This is not as sweet as such but it feels like your mouth after drinking brandy – so bizarre.
So as far as the description goes this doesn’t feel as creamy sweet as the Havana Nights version. The creamy sweet vibe might come through more in the high VG version.
Again though this is delicious I really like it, but will have to knock a couple of points off for it not being what I expected from the description.

“Creamy sweet, peanut butter with a hint of tobacco.”
I say….
After tasting the nic salt version of this flavour the high VG version already smells more vanilla-y and caramel-y!
There is loads more caramel coming through in this version of the same flavour, and as expected it is creamier and sweeter.
It is not as sweet as the Havana Nights there is a slight sour undertone but not horrible by any means. I do prefer the Havana nights – but I do have a sweet tooth anyway.
This has a bit more of the burnt gingerbread man aura about it! The high VG version is closer to the description than the nic salt version.
Final Verdict
The Nic Salt versions of the Apollo Boss e-liquids have such a rich flavour – so many layers that unravel as you inhale and exhale. It is rare for high nicotine e-liquid to carry such a deep flavour profile I am super impressed.
The High VG versions were sweeter with lovely smooth vapour these were also a delight.
What a wonderful range of tobacco liquids these taste refined and a lot more natural than some of the chemically liquids that were around years ago.
