What Can We Expect From The ANYX Cobra?
‘Bio, Boost, Bigger’…
ANYX are aiming for you to experience an unprecedented level of vaping with the ANYX Cobra. This is ANYX’s first biomimetic designed pod system which is capable of offering long battery life and a large e-liquid capacity!
The Cobra is capable of accommodating both Mouth To Lung (MTL) and Restricted Direct Lung (RDL) vapers thanks to the wide range of different pods available. You can choose from 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm resistances, as well as having an adjustable airflow slider.
Thanks to the design of the pods, it is easy to check how much e-liquid remains in them. And the pods also have a huge 5ml capacity, keeping you vaping all day.
It’s easy to refill them too, thanks to the side filling system which has been designed so that you don’t need to remove the pod in order to refill it.
A large 1000mah battery is built in, recharged via USB-C, which can keep you vaping for up to three days before needing a charge!
You can check battery status easily, thanks to the intuitive LED battery indicator. So you’ll always be able to tell when it is time to recharge your device. Six safety protections are built in too, to provide a safer vaping experience.
Many thanks to ANYX for sending the Cobra in for review. Let’s see what it has to offer! And as always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality
ANYX tout this device as having a ‘biomimetic’ design that is inspired by nature. Now, biomimetic is a new one on me, so I had to look this up…
From the Oxford Language dictionary – ‘relating to or denoting synthetic methods which mimic biochemical processes’. Hmmm, that is an interesting one for sure!
I’m not entirely sure how that translates into the design. Perhaps ANYX will clear this one up, but what I had here was a pod system that mimicked the look of a cobra in design. And I think it looks pretty cool personally!
The design of it is actually quite functional as well, because this sits in my palm really comfortably when holding it in hand.
Although the weight is listed as 110g, which is a little on the heavy side, this actually didn’t feel weighty to me at all. Though it is a fairly large pod system measuring in at 139mm x 62mm x 19mm.
There are four different colour finishes available for the ANYX Cobra, with Phantom Gray, Flame Red, Venom Green and Stealth Black. All of them look pretty smart but my personal favourite was the Flame Red version!
The front of the device features the ANYX logo and by flipping it over you’ll find the LED battery life indicator, which is in the shape of a line much like the ANYX Iron.
On the side is the airflow adjustment slider, which is nice and smooth when in use. I didn’t have any issues with the toggle feeling a little sharp as I did on the ANYX Iron. It’s located in a good position making it easy to adjust the airflow on the fly.
Pods connect firmly via a magnetic connection and are held firmly in place thanks to a magnetic connection.
It’s also easy to see how much e-liquid you have left in the pod and you don’t even need to remove it to check. You also don’t even need to remove the pod in order to fill it thanks to the side filling port!
Overall the craftsmanship of this device is very good indeed. Using high quality Zinc, PBS and ABS materials, featuring smooth edges and a comfortable shape that sits in the hand nicely.
I did find that the colour finish was prone to being scratched quite easily and some of it came off on a couple of my devices, especially if it was in my pocket with other items. Best to carry it around separately from anything else in your pocket!
Quick Start Guide
Firstly, you’ll need to remove the pod from the device and take off the safety sticker at the base of the pod.
After that, you’ll need to fill your ANYX Cobra pod.
Thanks to the design of the side filling, you don’t even need to remove the pod in order to fill it. Simply lift up the silicon cover from the base to expose the filling port and fill away!
If you are filling a brand new pod for the first time, let the e-liquid sit in the pod for around five minutes to allow the cotton in the coil to absorb the liquid properly. This will prolong the lifespan of the pods and help guard against nasty dry hits.
To vape on the ANYX Cobra, just take a draw on the pod.
An auto-draw system is used so there’s no need to push any buttons or anything here.
Six different safety protections are built in, with over-voltage, over-current, overtime, short circuit, low battery and child-lock.
The child lock is activated by tapping the USB-C charging port five times within two seconds and the LED light will flash Red to indicate that it is locked. It will flash Green when unlocking it, to unlock it you have to tap the charging port five times again.
As with the ANYX Iron, I have accidentally locked this on a couple of occasions by mistake when it has been in my pocket or if I have absent-mindedly been tapping away on the device. It’s easily done but thankfully quite easy to unlock it again!
Battery level is displayed via the intuitive LED light on the rear of the device. When it lights up Green, you’ve got 60-100% battery life remaining, when it is Blue there is 30-60% left and Red means 0-30%.
Charging
As with 99.9% of other pod systems out there, the ANYX Cobra is charged via USB-C. You’ll find a charging port conveniently located at the base of the device. A USB-C charging cable is also included in the box, so you just need to connect this to the device and a suitable power source.
I couldn’t find out what the charging rate for the ANYX Cobra is, but depending on the power source used you are looking at a charging time of around an hour from flat to full.
How Does The ANYX Cobra Perform?
Mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vapers are catered to here with the ANYX Cobra pods. You have the choice of 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods for your device.
A 0.6ohm ANYX Cobra pod is included when you purchase one of these devices. These utilise ANYX Sensit coil technology for optimal flavour and a long lifespan.
ANYX did send all of the different pods over for me to try out, so here are my thoughts on all of them!
0.4ohm Pod
So this one is for the restricted lung vaper, this isn’t a pod I would recommend for use if you vape mouth to lung usually or prefer a tighter draw.
This one delivers the most power out of any of the ANYX Cobra pods that I tried and a pretty warm and intense vape too. Although it is intense, the flavour delivery is impressively smooth too, making it a bit too easy to chain vape away on!
Along with that smooth vape I get some really superb flavour from this coil. This is right up there with some of the other market leaders! It produces quite a lot of vapour too, especially with the airflow set wide open.
If you like to be a bit economical with your e-liquid and don’t like to burn through it too quickly, then this pod might not be the best choice for you as it does get through e-liquid pretty damn quickly!
0.6ohm Pod
You get this pod included with the ANYX Cobra and it is a good one to start off with.
You can vape both restricted lung and mouth to lung with this one. But I feel that it is best suited to restricted lung vaping as it is a bit on the warm side with the airflow closed down for a mouth to lung vape!
The flavour here is pretty much on par with the 0.4ohm pod, with a slightly cooler vape. I still get pretty top notch flavour out of this one, a very smooth draw out of it and plenty of dense vapour as well.
0.8ohm Pod
If you vape mouth to lung, but prefer a slightly looser mouth to lung draw rather than a cheek-suckingly tight one, then the 0.8ohm pod will be the one for you.
I found that this performed best with the airflow set to around half open, which delivers a flavoursome mouth to lung vape and more subtle vapour production.
1.2ohm Pod
Finally, if a tight mouth to lung vape is what you prefer then this will be the pod for you!
It’s a bit on the weak side for my style of vaping, but if you prefer your vape to be more subtle then you’ll get on with this one.
I found that it wasn’t as intense flavour wise as the others and definitely didn’t produce huge plumes of vapour. This one will probably be a good option for people new to vaping.
My wife prefers a tighter and less intense vape, she really enjoyed using this pod and found it to be her pod of choice!
Battery life
You’ve got pretty identical performance to the ANYX Iron here, there’s also a 1000mah battery built into the device as there is on the Iron.
What that means is that you’ll get pretty much a full day’s use with the 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm pods and over a day’s use with the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods.
To achieve the promoted 3 days’ worth of vaping, you’ll need to be using the 1.2ohm pod and be vaping quite infrequently.
I do vape fairly frequently and prefer lower resistance pods, so I’m happy if I can get a full day’s use before needing a recharge and that is what I get here!
Pros
- Really good flavour from the pods
- Unique design
- Large 5ml pod capacity
- Pods have a long lifespan
- Caters to mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vapers
- Adjustable airflow
- Can refill the pod without having to remove it from the device

- Easy to accidentally lock the device
- Larger profile than the ANYX Iron
Final Review Verdict
I’ve been using both the ANYX Cobra and the ANYX Iron for the past few weeks now, and there is little to separate them in terms of device performance. I get the same top quality vape and both of them have a 1000mAh battery built-in which performs identically on both devices.
The Cobra does set itself apart from the Iron by having a 5ml pod capacity, compared to the 4ml pods found on the Iron. So if you are a pretty heavy vaper and are considering picking up either the Iron or the Cobra then the Cobra might well be the best option for you.
If these devices do find their way to the UK market (and I hope that they do!) then this will be negated due to the TPD regulations as both will need to have a maximum 2ml capacity pod.
Overall, as I also found on the Iron, this is a great little pod system that delivers a really flavoursome vape and decent battery life.
ANYX could have some real hits on their hands with the Cobra as well as the Iron!
